Life is a Mystery

Once upon a home

For a few years I and my family had the privilege of living in a wonderful house in Ohio. Mary and I lived in the carriage house and were married while we were there. A memory of this garden covered in snow brings back the morning we decided to take the leap. The sample chapter from a new book about the house brings back many memories. But one that is missing is shooting hoops with Steve Jobs in the driveway.

One of the fun things I remember is helping you wire the house and carriage house for Appletalk (actually phonenet). It seems like a long time ago (and I guess it was :-) Also, wasn’t this also around the time NeXT was getting going?

It is interesting what sticks in your memory…

I remember that! The phone box was in the basement near the table with the model train. There was a Merlin phone system in the house, so nothing was simple black-yellow-green-red, it had all kinds of color combos. That was a blast!
