Life is a Mystery

Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, I develop websites with my son through Tenseg LLC. Mary, Alex, and Nate help me stay balanced enough to get things done. As a Friend of St. Joseph I also seek ways to live the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph in my life.

I believe in the value of shared resources, whether books or people, source code or scientific papers, and still consider myself a librarian without a library. Our society grows stronger when we draw on the ideas and talents of one another. I enjoy matching my talent for developing new ideas and spotting technology trends with partners who want to encourage innovation within their organizations. I thrive on exploring emerging technologies and ways to appropriately deploy them to meet the needs of our communities.

I’ve loved creating DSpace at the MIT Libraries, encouraging UThink at the University of Minnesota Libraries, and challenging the Minnesota Digital Library to think about interactive services. I’ve also enjoyed working with the Digital Library Federation, the Association of Research Libraries, the Council on Library and Information Resources, and OCLC Research.

If you’d like to know way too much about what I’ve been up to, feel free to check out this PDF of my CV or my occasional blog.

If you have an opportunity you think I would enjoy, I’d love to hear from you!
