Life is a Mystery

Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, I consult in the fields of library technology, website management, and iOS development through a practice founded by my son and I, Tenseg LLC. My clients have included the Minnesota Digital Library, the Digital Library Federation, the Association of Research Libraries, the Council on Library and Information Resources, and OCLC Research. The best way to contact me is via email, though you are also welcome to call me.

Three wonderful partners in my life help me stay balanced enough to get things done: Mary, Alex, and Nate. As a Friend of St. Joseph I also seek ways to live the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph in my life.

I believe in the value of shared resources, whether books or people, source code or scientific papers. Our society grows stronger when we draw on the ideas and talents of one another. I enjoy matching my talent for developing new ideas and spotting technology trends with partners who want to encourage innovation within their organizations. I’ve loved creating DSpace at the MIT Libraries, encouraging UThink at the University of Minnesota Libraries, and challenging the Minnesota Digital Library to think about interactive services. I thrive on exploring emerging technologies and ways to appropriately deploy them to meet the needs of our communities.

If you’d like to know way too much about what I’ve been up to, feel free to check out this PDF of my CV.

If you have an opportunity you think I would enjoy, I’d love to hear from you!
