Counting on CONTENTdm: Deciphering Statistics and Looking for Alternatives
Here are the slides and notes from a presentation I made to the Upper Midwest CONTENTdm Users Group Meeting on 8 November 2010. This presentation describes how CONTENTdm overcounts item views by not properly filtering out web crawlers. It describes a method for analyzing your log files and a resolution you can undertake with OCLC support to help limit the scope of the overcount.
